As a leading childcare provider in Colchester, we offer children the opportunity to play and learn in an exciting, inspiring environment, providing children with plentiful resources to explore learn and grow in a home from home atmosphere.
3 months up to two years
Our little explorers will learn and grow with us as they transition through our comfortable, bright and exciting rooms during their Safari Childcare adventure!
Our youngest explorers will join us in either our Cub or Tiger room, and they can will be nurtured during their time in this comfortable, home environment. Our early year’s educators will provide your little ones with the learning opportunities which will serve as the foundations for their early learning and development.
These early years are a critical time for your child, and establishing the foundation for their learning and development during this stage is our top priority, which is why we have designed our Cub and Tiger rooms as a safe environment that will facilitate this growth.
From 2 to 3 years
Once your little one turns two, they will be ready to continue their adventure to our Chimp room. Children in our Chimp room can continue to feel the same comfort and safety that they are used to, but now they will also have the opportunity to grow and develop their own unique character! Our little ones will learn about important topics such as sharing, empathy for others, and early mathematics and literacy skills based on the foundations set in our Cub and Tiger rooms.
3 + years
When our little explorers turn three, they can start their journey into our preschool room. Our preschool room enables children to continue to build on the skills and knowledge they will have gained in our Chimp room.
Our little ones are able to develop their confidence and independence with support and encouragement from our early years educators who will guide them through age and skill-appropriate experiments, games and social situations. By doing this, we are preparing your child for the next chapter in their life and ensuring that once they leave us for primary school, that they have all of the skills, knowledge and excitement that will allow them to flourish in this new environment.
We have carefully devised a scrumptious four-week menu that rotates to ensure that your child will not be given the same meal twice within this period. All meals are freshly prepared within the premises, and all diets are catered for.
Staff that prepare and handle food have all undertaken a food hygiene course, and children are highly encouraged to maintain a standard of hygiene when preparing for mealtimes by hand washing and ensuring surfaces are clean and covered.
Snacks are provided in a sharing tray so the children can choose what they would and would not like to eat, and although we encourage the children to try new foods, there is no pressure to do so.
Additionally, as all the snacks that we offer are all healthy, we can ensure that the children are getting goodness from whatever they decide to eat!
Teaching your child a second language at the start of their child care journey has countless benefits! Not only does this help to develop their early language skills, but it will also give them an academic advantage if they wanted to pursue languages later in their education. Most importantly, our Spanish School makes learning fun! Learning a language in this environment makes the entire process fun and engaging so your children won’t even realise that they’re learning. Yoga isn’t just for grown-ups! We believe that using yoga in the classroom can have a positive impact on a child’s well-being, for instance, yoga can help a child manage their anxiety through relaxation exercises and breathing techniques. Yoga has also been shown to help enhance children’s concentration and memory while also teaching them discipline and offering them a physical outlet to express themselves.
Rugby has a lot to offer, and we’re not just talking about health! Physical exercise is incredibly important and should be a part of your child’s routine. Rugby is an extremely physical sport which involves both running, throwing and catching. Additionally, when playing rugby, your child is also learning about strategy. Team sports help to teach us critical thinking and can stimulate your child’s mental capability.
Giving children the ability to play and explore in a natural environment fosters their intellectual, emotional, social and physical development. By spending time outdoors with our Forest School, children can learn by doing and experimenting with ideas as nature provides countless opportunities for discovery, creativity and problem-solving. Being outdoors also offers emotional benefits as spending time exploring nature can reduce tension, anxiety and restlessness.
Really lovely nursery, everything you could ask for and so pleased to have found this nursery, my little girl loves it too! She’s learning new things every day, the food is all cooked fresh and my baby eats so well when she’s there! It’s great you can also gain access to the camera in the room so you can watch your little one playing and learning! Couldn’t recommend enough.
I couldn’t recommend Safari Childcare enough. My daughter who is 15 months started in February of this year and I was very nervous due to her only ever being looked after by friends and family. All the staff made us feel so welcomed and made the process so easy. They were always more than happy to answer any questions I had. The communication and details about what your child has been up to that day is amazing and the camera is a lovely additional bonus to keep parents minds at ease. Overall, I am so pleased we joined Safari!
We cannot praise Safari highly enough! Our son started Safari childcare in September and we are so impressed on how well he is doing since going regularly. The staff are lovely and my son is excited to go and is always smiling when we pick him up. We are so pleased with our experience with Safari and long may it continue!
